Breeder Course

Mandix Misser takes breeding and the welfare of their cats very seriously. While it is fun to breed and it gives much joy it is not something that you should engage in without having an understand and knowledge of the area.
Mandix Misser did not have experience in breeding when we started. It was therefore important to get an introduction and a basic knowledge of breeding. The Danish cat club Racekatten has designed a series of courses that intend to equip breeders with sufficient knowledge. Mandix Misser has now completed this series but continues with selected extra courses that benefit good breeding.

The Course Programme

The programme consists of 4 levels named red, yellow, green, and blue paws. Each paw correspond to 4 courses in various subjects. The red is required and a prerequisite for the next paws. The next levels are not mandatory.

Red Paw

The red paw consists of the following subjects (Danish names are written in brackets):

1. Contracts and the purchase law. Tom Høj. (kontrakter/købeloven). 
2. Rules and regulations of Felis Danica. Camilla Scharff. (Felis Danicas love og regler)
3. Basic Genetics. Charly Riis & Jan Krag. (Grundlæggende genetik)
4. Herpes/calici and basis vaccinations. Stig Feldballe. (Herpes/calici og basisvaccinationer)

Yellow Paw

Yellow is the next level after the red paw. It is made up of the following subjects (Danish names are written in brackets):

1. Genetics module II. Charly Riis & Jan Krag. (Genetik modul II)
2. Genetics module III. Charly Riis & Jan Krag. (Genetik modul III)
3. Ethics and morale module II. (Etik og moral modul II)
4. Allergic diseases. Lene Boysen. (Allergiske lidelser hos kat)

Green Paw

Green is the next level after the yellow paw. It is made up of the following subjects (Danish names are written in brackets):

1. FIP. Stig Feldballe (FIP)
2. The kitten's growth. Hanne Nielsen. (Killingens opvækst)
3. Animal chiropractic. Raiku Sarvå. (Dyrekiropraktik)
4. Alternative treatment. Anni Koch-Knudsen. (Alternativ behandling)

Blue Paw

Blue is the last level after the green paw. Mandix Misser plans to achieve the Blue Paw by Marts 2009 and it will be made up of the following subjects (Danish names are written in brackets):

2. Steward Course. Hanne Nielsen. (Stewardkursus)
3. Fur Care. Jørgen Billing. (Pelsplejemøde)
4. Judging, Contents and Meaning. Bette Lind. (Bedømmelser, indhold og betydning)
